An ultrasound scan is a widely used diagnostic scan to examine various organs and parts of your body. It uses high-frequency sound waves to obtain information about a particular area of your body. Lubricating gel is first applied to your skin over the area being examined and then a hand held probe is moved over the area to capture the images.
